NLO COO, Shola Ogunnowo, Reveals Exciting Plans for Next Season
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Nationwide League One (NLO), Mr. Shola Ogunnowo, has hinted at a revamped league next season. Speaking at the Ilorin Fitness Festival, Ogunnowo disclosed that the league has expanded its scope beyond Nigeria, securing partnerships with foreign entities.
"I can assure you that next season will be different. We've expanded beyond Nigeria, and we're expecting two foreign partners to join us," Ogunnowo said.
The COO also highlighted the league's successful integration of technology, which has improved administration and eliminated some problems. The partnership with Sofascore has made match results and goalscorers available worldwide, a feat unmatched by other Nigerian leagues.
Ogunnowo noted that 75% of matches are currently available on YouTube, showcasing players and the league globally. The target for next season is to increase broadcast coverage to 90%.
To achieve this, the league plans to invest in more equipment and facilities, enhancing the overall output of the league. With these developments, fans can expect a more exciting and professional Nationwide League One experience next season.
