The Club Owners of Africa’s largest grassroots football league, the Nationwide League One (NLO), have insisted that the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) be held physically, reaffirming their commitment to the league’s progress.

 

The AGM, scheduled for Friday, December 12th in Abuja, was initially proposed to be conducted virtually by the NLO Executive Board amid rising security concerns across the country. However, club officials strongly opposed the idea, stressing that an in-person gathering was essential for meaningful deliberations and collective decision-making.

 

Responding to the overwhelming preference of the club owners, the NLO Secretariat has confirmed that the meeting will proceed as a physical event. The Secretariat noted that the willingness of club representatives to travel despite prevailing challenges underscores their dedication to fostering the growth, unity, and long-term development of the league.

 

Attendees are expected to arrive in Abuja on Thursday, December 11th, and depart on December 13th. Adding to the excitement, the MTN-NLO Cup final is also set to take place on December 12th, providing an additional highlight during the AGM period.

 

The NLO assured congress members that further logistical details will be communicated promptly. The organization also expressed gratitude for the clubs’ unwavering support and cooperation during these trying times, emphasizing its anticipation of constructive discussions and a highly productive AGM.
