It was a festival of goals on matchday 5 of the ongoing Nationwide League One hostilities at the Oisa centre okpala as resurgent Buberio FC came from behind to complete a historic comeback against high flying Inter Aba FC in a 3-2 victory.
The Aba based side yet to taste defeat prior to commencement of hostilities were seen as huge favourites over a winless Buberio FC having suffered successive defeats in their previous 4 matches, as for Inter Aba they've been enjoying a roller coaster ride-winning 3 and drawn just once.
The pacy Hezekiah Ogbebe shot Inter Aba in front with a moment of individual brilliance having brilliantly found space down the left side of the goal area to slot home past goalkeeper Chidubem Egbulefu for the game's opener.
The brave warriors of Umunneochi roared aggressively with intent having gone behind yet again in what has been a routine at the Oisa centre in their previous matches took the game to their much fancied opposition and were rewarded off the boots of tall lanky striker Benjamin Chikezie who drew them level on 36 minutes signalling renewed hopes and fortune for Buberio FC.
Buoyed by the equalising goal, Buberio FC pressed on relentlessly and were awarded a spot kick that had the reliable Benjamin Chikezie saddled with such huge responsibility as he expertly sent the Inter Aba goalkeeper the wrong way to put Buberio in the driving seat before the halftime break.
The second half had Inter Aba thrown everything at their less fancied opponents with flurry of attacking football which eventually yielded dividends in the 70th minute, as a miscommunication between goalkeeper Chidubem Egbulefu and his defense line gifted an unmarked Nnanna Ibe to draw Inter Aba level.
As much as the confines of the Oisa Stadium reeked of a kate victory for Inter Aba owing to a flurry of created goal scoring chances which was just a flash in the pan, winger Nnadozie Divine broke the hearts of Inter Aba fans with a delicious lob which left the Inter Aba goalkeeper helpless as the ball flew past him to regain Buberio FC's lead.
All efforts for Inter Aba to muster a late comeback amounted to sheer futility as the centre referee blew for full-time for a historic victory for the Umunneochi based outfit.
Still revelling in such victorious moment,Buberio FC are poised to trade punches with a pathetic Jaguar FC on matchday 6 as a consolidation of victory for the brave warriors could be on the cards with kick-off billed for 8AM.
