Nigeria's former football captain and goalkeeper, Peter Rufai died on Thursday morning at 61 after a protracted medical battle.
Nicknamed 'Dodomayana' he was first choice keeper when Nigeria won the AFCON in 1994 and was at two world cup tournaments.
The Nigerian football confraternity was held spell bound throughout Thursday after Radio Nigeria broke the news in the morning but his family is yet to make public comment on his passage.
