The recent World Cup qualifiers competitions and  Women's Africa Cup of Nations have witnessed a remarkable turn of events, with Morocco emerging as a dominant force in African football. Meanwhile, Nigeria, once a powerhouse in African football, has struggled to make an impact. While this may seem like a bleak period for Nigerian football, it highlights the failure of Nigerian football administrators to capitalize on the country's rich talent pool.

Morocco's national teams, both men and women, have been on a remarkable run, showcasing their skills and prowess on the continental stage. The Atlas Lions have demonstrated a level of cohesion, strategy, and skill that has earned them admiration from fans and pundits alike. Their success is a testament to the country's well-structured football system, which emphasizes grassroots development, infrastructure investment, and effective administration.

As Nigeria's football administrators grapple with internal politics and power struggles, Morocco has seized the opportunity to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in African football. The Super Eagles and Super Falcons, once the pride of Nigerian football, have struggled to regain their footing, and it seems that Morocco is now reaping the benefits of Nigeria's misfortunes.

The success of Moroccan football serves as a wake-up call for Nigerian football administrators. It highlights the need for a paradigm shift in the way football is administered in Nigeria. Rather than focusing on personal interests and power struggles, administrators should prioritize the development of grassroots football, invest in infrastructure, and provide support for players and coaches.

*THE WAY FORWARD*
To reclaim its position as a football powerhouse, Nigeria needs to learn from Morocco's success and address its administrative challenges. This includes:
✅️ *Leadership and Governance*: Nigerian football administrators need to demonstrate leadership and good governance, prioritizing the development of football over personal interests.
✅️ *Grassroots Development*: Investing in grassroots football development is crucial for identifying and nurturing young talent.
✅️ *Infrastructure Investment*: Upgrading football infrastructure, including stadiums, training facilities, and equipment, is essential for providing players with the necessary tools to succeed. 
✅️ *Support for Players and Coaches*: Providing support and resources for players  and coaches, including training, mentorship, and incentives, is vital for their development and success.

As Morocco basks in the glory of its African Footballer of the year Male/Female crowns, Nigerian football administrators would do well to take note of the lessons and work towards reclaiming Nigeria's position as a football powerhouse. The future of Nigerian football depends on it.
