Nigeria To Host Maiden African Sport Supporters Awards

Nigeria's leading roles in the development and growth of sports in Africa was once again acknowledged during the meeting of Confederation African Sports Supporters, held inside the Cultural Cenre, in Casablanca, Morocco.
During its historic meeting that had over 36 member African nations, African Sports Supporters (CASS), led by Tany Gabou of Cote D'Ivoire, appointed globally renowned sports supporter, Dr. Rafiu Ladipo, as its continental patron.
The body also picked Nigeria to host its maiden awards night scheduled for March, 2026, and chose Rev(Amb). Samuel Oyameda Ikpea, the National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club, as head of the local organising committee.
In his acceptance speech, Rafiu Ladipo, promised more support for the continental body, even as he admonished African supporters clubs to be united.
He restated the leadership and important roles of Nigeria in continental and global sports, adding that members of the organising committee for the awards, are primed to host a successful event.
