Nigeria Sports Minister and a romance of failure

No one wants to be identified with failure but how would you describe the developments around team Nigeria at the 2024 Olympics in Paris?

From Favour Ofili's name getting mysteriously ommitted from team Nigeria's list of athletes for the 100m event, to Nigerian athletes borrowing bysicle to compete in cycling event.

It has been tales of huge ineptitude and outmost shame that Nigeria couldn't win a medal, even with over 9 billion naira wasted on the Paris leg of the competition.

One is left to wonder how a country of over 200 million people is struggling to win a medal at an Olympic game where Saint Lucia 🇱🇨,  a country with just over 179,857 population has won one of the most prestigious medals at the games, the 100m women gold medal.

What we see now in our sports is a solid departure from some solid foundations laid by the last sports minister, Sunday Dare. The clock is obviously ticking backwards.

Adopt an Athelete.
Adopt a Pitch
Adopt a facility
Talent Hunt Program THP.
Sports Industry Policy.
High-performance Center.

Funding was secured for all this through the public/private sector partnership.

All the above abandoned by the present minister John Onoh. Nigeria is a joke !

Our minister is busy romancing the NFF and collecting handouts at the detriment of our football.

He allegedly goes around the world intervewing coaches for the job of the Super Eagles? Well done sir, our Minister of football.

Enough is enough! John Enoh is not good enough!

Why appoint a farmer to do the job of a tailor.

John Enoh doesn't know what he is doing.

Tinubu, sack him now.
