Niger Tornadoes Coach Majin Mohammed Hails Victory Over Rangers as a Mission Accomplished

 

Niger Tornadoes head coach, Majin Mohammed, expressed his satisfaction after his side defeated Rangers International 2-1 in an NPFL clash in Enugu, achieving what he described as a “mission accomplished.”

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Majin highlighted the importance of the victory, referencing last season’s double defeats to Rangers as motivation for the team’s performance.

“We came here on a mission to avenge the defeats we suffered against Rangers last season,” Majin said. “I’m not surprised by the result because we worked very hard for it. Rangers were the only team we failed to pick up a point against last season. After losing to them in Minna, we told ourselves that this dominance had to end, and that’s exactly what we’ve done.”

Majin also praised his team’s character, especially in the absence of their top scorer, Joseph Godstime, who was unavailable after traveling abroad. The coach commended the seamless integration of newly recruited players, Ismail Sarki and Adebambo Ademola, whose performances played a key role in the win.

“The team has shown character, even without Joseph. The new players have blended well, as seen with the contributions of Sarki and Ademola. Their performances today were outstanding and show how ready they are to help the team.”
