The Congress of the Nigeria Football Federation has applauded the various Women National Teams for their superlative performance in their events. 

The congress were  particular with the outstanding performance of the Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand 2023, and the U17 girls’ bronze medal-winning effort at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup India 2022.

The congress implored them not to rest on their oars until they win the various World Cup. 

It could be recalled that Flamingos finished 3rd at the FIFA U17 Girls World Cup in India. The
Flamingos had lost 1-2 to Germany, beat New Zealand 4-0, beat Chile 2-1. beat US 4:3 on penalties at the quarter finals stage after a 1-1 full time scores. They eventually lost the semi finals tie to Colombia on 5 goals to 6 at the semi finals after a full time scores of goalless.

 At the losers final, the Nigerians beat Germany 6 - 5 after a 3-3 full time scores.

The Super Falcons on their part put up a decent performance at the Senior Women World Cup where they did not lose a match to any country at regulation time. They lost to England at the second round on penalties, after a goalless first half.
