Nasarawa United have been hit with multiple sanctions for breaching the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Framework and Rules during their fixture against Plateau United on Sunday.

 

The Lafia-based club was charged after failing to provide adequate and effective security, which led to unauthorised individuals accessing restricted areas and harassing Plateau United players and match officials.

 

The club was also found guilty of failing to control their supporters, resulting in violent disturbances, including the assault of Plateau United player, Vincent Temitope, with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

 

Due to these infractions, Nasarawa United have been banished to the Pantami Stadium in Gombe, where they will now play all their remaining home matches for the rest of the #NPFL25 season.

 

Additionally, the NPFL has imposed several financial penalties:

• N1 million fine for failing to provide adequate security

• N1 million fine for failure to ensure proper conduct of supporters

• N3 million fine for persistent breaches of NPFL rules

• N1 million fine to cover medical expenses and compensation for Plateau United’s Vincent Temitope

 

These sanctions are part of the league’s ongoing efforts to uphold discipline and ensure the safety of players, officials, and fans throughout the NPFL season.
