Nasarawa United's quest for their first win in the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League season was thwarted as they were held to a goalless draw by Niger Tornadoes FC at the Bako Kontagora Memorial Stadium in Minna.

Despite a strong performance, the Solid Miners were denied victory due to a contentious decision by the referee, who disallowed a late goal by Adamu Hassan in the 89th minute.

The match saw both teams create scoring opportunities, with Nasarawa United's Moyi Hassan and Umar Ada coming close to scoring. The hosts, Niger Tornadoes, also had their chances, but Emeka Onyema and Uchenna Odeh made crucial blocks to prevent them from scoring.

The second half saw Nasarawa United dominate possession, with substitute Terdoo Shimagande's strike saved by the goalkeeper. A penalty claim was also waved off, and the match ended in a stalemate.

Nasarawa United will look to bounce back in their next match against El-Kanemi Warriors at the Lafia City Stadium on September 22.
