Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Sule, Commisions Newly Refurbished NSUK Basketball Court Gifted By President of Hotcoal Basketball Club, Dr Ubon Udoh
The Nasarawa State Governor, His Excellency Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has officially commissioned the newly renovated Nasarawa State University Basketball Court, now named the NSUK Wolves Basketball Court.
Represented by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, the governor expressed gratitude to Dr. Ubon Udoh for fulfilling all commitments made to the school, particularly in the renovation of the basketball court.
"In light of the commitments made and subsequently fulfilled, with the renovation of the basketball court being the final step, today, we witness the court restored to international standards. On behalf of the Governor of Nasarawa State and the university, we extend our appreciation for fulfilling all commitments made to the school on that day. I am honored to officially commission this court for the use of our students, to the glory of the Almighty God, and to pray that those who practice on it become medalists in their competitions."
Earlier, Dr. Ubon Udoh, President of the Hotcoal Basketball Club, shared the objective behind renovating the basketball court, reflecting on his personal connection to the university as his mother was one of its founding members of staff.
"Every visit to Nasarawa State University evokes nostalgia for me, as my mother was one of its founding members, serving as the school's first librarian and Dean of Student Affairs. I pledged to provide support to the school's basketball team and renovate the basketball court. This court is more than just a space for physical activity; it's a safe haven for children to pursue their dreams emotionally, physically, and psychologically. Nasarawa State University, known for its academic excellence, deserves a facility where students can learn, play, and build character to become outstanding citizens."
