Nasarawa State Commissioner, Mohammed Sani Ottos, faced public humiliation during Eid-el-Fitr celebrations as angry youths disrupted prayers in his hometown.

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, the youths stormed the Eid prayer ground wielding sticks, engaging in physical altercations, and causing chaos. Ottos’ aides and supporters struggled to protect him from the aggressive crowd as they hastily escorted him away.

 

A voice in the background of the video suggested that similar hostility occurred the previous year, highlighting ongoing tensions between Ottos and his community.

 

Despite the incident, some individuals consoled the commissioner, who reportedly broke down in tears. He was temporarily removed from the scene to de-escalate tensions but later returned to participate in the prayers.

 

The confrontation has sparked discussions about Ottos’ strained relationship with his community and the underlying grievances. As of now, neither the commissioner nor the Nasarawa State Government has issued an official statement.
