Nasarawa Amazons head coach Christopher Danjuma has refused to fault his players following their 2-0 loss to Edo Queens in Matchday 5 of the NWFL Premiership at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City.

 

The defeat marked the Solid Babes’ second loss of the season after winning three of their first five games.

 

“Well, that’s football for you. When you make mistakes, you pay for them,” Danjuma said post-match. “Footballers are human. No matter how much you work, sometimes, somewhere, somebody fails to live up to expectations, and you pay for it. It’s a normal thing.”

 

Despite the setback, Danjuma remains focused on the team’s ultimate goal.

 

“We have a target, and we are determined to achieve it no matter the odds. Now, we move on and prepare for our next game against Heartland Queens at home. Every point is important if we want to stay in the race.”

 

Nasarawa Amazons began their campaign with a 1-0 win over Dannaz Ladies, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Abia Angels, and bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Confluence Queens before the latest loss to Edo Queens.

 

The team will now look to return to winning ways when they host Heartland Queens in their next fixture.
