The Nigeria National League Club Owners and Managers Association (NALCOMA) has praised the Nigeria National League (NNL) leadership, led by Chief George Aluo, for the remarkable strides made during the just-concluded 2024/25 league season.

Speaking at a weekend media parley in Lagos, NALCOMA President Godwin Enakhena described the season as a resounding success, citing improved team performances, enhanced officiating, and better fan behavior across the league’s four groups.

Enakhena, who also serves as Chairman of Sporting Lagos FC, highlighted the progress made in ensuring professionalism and competitive integrity throughout the campaign. He noted that the season’s success reflected the commitment of the NNL board to elevate the ‘Most Important League’ closer to the standards of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

“The just-concluded 2024/25 season is one of the most organized and competitive in recent years. Teams gave a good account of themselves, and the fans at various match centers conducted themselves with remarkable decorum. That’s a testament to the leadership and structure the NNL has put in place under Chief George Aluo,” Enakhena stated.

He also applauded the noticeable improvements in match officiating, saying the quality and fairness of refereeing played a crucial role in the league’s overall success. According to him, the steady rise in officiating standards is a direct result of the NNL’s emphasis on credibility and professionalism.

Looking ahead, Enakhena commended the NNL for confirming Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, as the host venue for the upcoming Super 8 playoffs, scheduled from July 5th to 12th, 2025. He extended special thanks to the Executive Governor of Delta State, H.E. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his continued support of grassroots and elite football development in the state.

“Governor Oborevwori’s commitment to sports, especially football, has been remarkable. Hosting the Super 8 in Asaba is yet another example of Delta State’s role in shaping Nigerian football,” he added.

Enakhena urged all eight teams set to feature in the Super 8 to bring their best to the pitch as they battle for four coveted promotion spots to the NPFL for the 2025/26 season.

The playoff will feature Warri Wolves, Crown FC of Ogbomosho, Kun Khalifat FC of Owerri, Osun United FC, Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi, Yobe Desert Stars, Doma United FC of Gombe, and Barau FC of Kano.
