For one dramatic turn of events for the Grade A Customary Court for Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State, one man wey dem call Hamzat don throw serious allegation against him wife, Safiyah. Hamzat don start divorce matter and claim say him wife dey do devilish things—she dey wash her private parts and use that water cook him food.

Hamzat tok say him wife behavior begin change right after dem marry, and that one bring plenty quarrel. “My wife dey stubborn and she always dey do anything she wan do,” he yan, as if say her actions no be her own. He come further claim say Safiyah get influence from her mama, wey dey encourage her to do these kind things for house.

The most shocking part be when Hamzat talk, “My wife wash her private part and use the water cook my food.” He believe say these things na attempt to control am, though e tok say the whole wahala no work at all. Apart from that, he also accuse Safiyah say she dey always dey steal money wey suppose dey for him business, and that one nearly make him business go bankrupt.

Showin say e dey worry for the pikin dem welfare, Hamzat yan say his wife na “bad example” and beg the court make dem issue order make she no dey harass, dey threaten, or interfere with him personal life after divorce. Even though dem don serve her court summons, Safiyah no show face to answer the allegations.

Judge S.M. Akintayo wey dey preside the case order say dem go issue fresh hearing notice and serve am to Safiyah, and the matter don postpone to April 8 for further hearing.
