Michael Agu made his second missionary journey at Heartland count in a big and emphatic manner after his brace helped the Naze Millionaires snatch an emphatic 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes in Sunday night's NPFL Match Day Five tie at Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The win meant Heartland broke their winless run in style, and remarkably, handed Tornadoes their first defeat of the campaign.

Agu had a spell at Heartland about ten years ago and on this his second return, he hauled all the positive headlines after scoring on either half of the pulsating contest.

Tornadoes took control of things right from the off, subjecting their hosts to a disjointed performance that drew loud hisses from the stands. Indeed, Heartland were visibly off colour this first period but just like Jose Mourinho would say, 'sometimes you can play ugly and still win.

Somehow, it looked one doesn't need the best of creative and cosmetic performance to win a game. And this came to the fore 20 minutes into the first period when the Naze Millionaires surged forward from the left hand channel. Chuks Adoh was close to giving the ball away under tight challenge from Mohammed Hussaini but the tricky forwarward managed to get a cross into the Tornadoes area and Michael Agu sneaked in to plant his low headed effort into the bottom corner. Tornadoes did not pull off the pedal. They took the setback in their strides but it was the hosts who came close to doubling their advantage two minutes before the break when Agu, again, evaded the trap of Tornadoes backline and face on goal, he went down close to the area under defender Hussaini's challenge. Shockingly, the defender got only a yellow from the referee when he should have been sent off.

Heartland made a clear claim for a red card, Hussaini being 'the last man in defence' and impeding a goal bound attacker. But the arbiter waved their appeal away.

Agu completed his brace on the night on the hour mark following a thrilling exchange of passes from the middle. The stadium rose with wild ovation. 

Afterwards, the stadium went into celebration as never seen in recent times.
