Abia Warriors forward, Sunday Megwo, has expressed disappointment following his side’s 1-1 draw with Wikki Tourists FC in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 23 encounter played on Wednesday in Umuahia.

Despite settling for a point, the Umuahia-born attacker believes Abia Warriors were unfortunate not to claim all three points after dominating large spells of the contest.

“We played well and created chances, but luck wasn’t on our side,” Megwo said after the match.

“We dominated the second half and missed several opportunities to win the game, but that’s football. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t. We’ll take the point and focus on getting back to winning ways in our next match,” he added.

The forward acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming fixture against Katsina United, stressing the team’s determination to bounce back.

“It will be a tough game against Katsina United this Sunday at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium. We will learn from this and come back stronger in the next fixtures,” Megwo concluded.

Megwo has been a key figure for Abia Warriors this season, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 14 league appearances.

Abia Warriors will travel to Katsina this weekend to face Katsina United in a Matchday 24 encounter scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026.
