The new rave of football in Abuja, Mamba PRO FC of Gwagwalada on Tuesday emerged the champions of the maiden edition of the All Local Government Of Nigeria (ALGON ) FCT Chapter Football Tournament.

The team defeated Abuja Municipal Area Council team by five goals to four on penalties, after goalless full time.

The match which was played at Kwali Area Council mini Stadium saw the Gwagwalada boys playing brilliantly all through the game. Their incursions at emerging winners before the regulation time was abortive, as the AMAC players defended stoutly.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Kwali Area Council, who incidentally is the Chairman of FCT ALGON said the tournament has given the youths the Area Councils the opportunity to exhibit their talents for them to be discovered. He appreciated the organizers of the tournament for their good organizational prowess.

In his statement at the final match, the Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council Honourable Christopher Zakka Maikalangu said the tournament has further unify the youths in all the Area Councils in FCT, and promised to continue his support to the youths in his Council to excel in their chosen fields.

Moses Obenda, the Chairman and founder of Mamba PRO FC expressed delight in the performance of his two months old team, saying that in less than two months of formation, the team has played in two football tournaments final. On what the further holds in stock for the team, Obenda said "the future will surely take care of itself". It could be recalled that Mamba PRO FC were finalists in the 2023 edition of FCT Preseason Tournament.
