Saliu Tayo a grass root quality player in Nigeria wasted no time in settling down in his new club Malmo city fc in Sweden as he scored his first international professional football goal against IFK Trelleborg in a 2-1 win on Saturday.
The fleet footed finisher who recently moved from an amateur team Chykap international football club in Nigeria on a free loan to Sweden in May 2019.
He scored in the 17 min of play as he connected with a header from a corner kick to the admiration of the fans, Tayo consolidated his performance with an assist in the 76 min and earned for himself the man of the match award.
Speaking on his performance Philip Chilaka the president of his former club in Nigeria showed no surprise on Tayo’ consistency and ability to settle down easily.
” Tayo is a disciplined and focused player blessed with speed and a fighting spirit, all that is left for him is to showcase this attributes on the field of play ” he told the media.
Tayo has played two matches , with a goal, an assist and a man of the match award to show for his efforts.
