Maiden Bishop Owen Nwokolo U21 Archdiocesan Football Tournament Enters Matchday Seven With Two Tricky Fixtures

The maiden edition of the Bishop Owen Nwokolo U21 competition amongst youths in the various Archdioceses in the Onitsha Archdiocese of the Anglican Communion enters matchday seven this weekend with two tricky fixtures, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
The competition, being sponsored by Barrister Robinson Izuchukwu Esq, (Odum Ana-Igbo), is aimed at keeping the youths physically fit as is the case in their spiritual life.
Besides, the competition is aimed at selecting players of great talent and quality who would be groomed and taken to Europe for trials.
On Saturday, 31 May, 2025, Nnobi Archdiocese will lock horns with New Covenant Archdiocese at 11 am at the Basilica, St Andrew's Anglican Church, Odoakpu, Onitsha. At the All Saints Anglican Church pitch, otherwise called 'The Cathedral', Divine Grace Archdiocese will trade tackle with their Inland Town Archdiocese counterparts in the second match of the day.
At a colourful opening ceremony held at the All Saints Cathedral, Bishop Nwokolo was represented by the Subdean of the All Saints Cathedral, Venice. Amala Ezewudo.
Also present were Main Organising Committee members, Venerable (Dr) Elochukwu Ojukwu who is also Diocesan Sports Chaplain, Venice Francis Orah, Rev. Canon Ejekam, Sir Emma Nwokolo, Sir B.M Ihekwabaand Mazi Victor Nwangwu who is Diocese on the Niger *DON) Director of Sports).
Exclusivenews.com.ng reports that Oba Archdiocese and their Oyi Archdiocese counterparts settled for a 3-3 draw in the opening match.
