LSFA Board and Lagos Sports Commission Forge Stronger Collaboration
The board members of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), led by Chairman Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, met with the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, at his Teslim Balogun Stadium office on Tuesday.
The meeting aimed to strengthen synergy and collaboration between the State FA and the Sports Commission, which oversees sports in Lagos. Key discussions included plans for the finals of this year's President Federation Cup, set to be hosted by Lagos, the Centre of Excellence.
In his opening remarks, LSFA Chairman Hajji Gafar expressed gratitude for Hon. Fatodu's efforts to improve sports in the state. He emphasized the board's desire for a fruitful collaboration with the Sports Commission to benefit and develop football in Lagos.
Hon. Fatodu responded positively, commending the LSFA board's energy and commitment to football development. He assured continued support and collaboration from the Sports Commission to enhance the football ecosystem in the state. Fatodu also highlighted that the Sports Commission would work closely with the State FA to deliver a spectacular and glamorous President Federation Cup final.
The President Federation Cup finals are scheduled for Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos. In the men's final, Abia Warriors of Abia will face El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri, while Naija Ratels and Rivers Angels will compete in the women's final.
