A major sports stakeholder in the Federal Capital Territory, Godwin Bamigboye has advised the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) to immediately consider using the popular Nyanya Stadium for the 2024 League season scheduled to kick off in April.

He gave this advise shortly after observing the extent of work attained at the sports complex. He was particularly excited with the laying of the pitch with synthetic surface. "Nyanya will become more popular as the sports hub in the Federal Capital Territory", Bamigboye said. He emphasized that the mini stadium met almost all the requirements to be used as a Nationwide League One venue because it is television friendly and has a good pavilion, dressing rooms, public convenience, parking space and other facilities.

He called on the Chief Operating Officer of the Nationwide League One, Shola Ogunowo to take time out of his busy schedule to pay a visit to the facility to determine its suitability and readiness to host the League.

The Nyanya mini stadium is being executed as a constituency project of the immediate past FCT Senator, Phillip Tanimu Aduda.

With this development and approval of the NLO office, the 19 Nationwide League One Clubs in FCT will now have the opportunity to play their league matches either in Bwari Township Stadium or the Nyanya Mini Stadium.
