A Lagos-based woman, Osarobo Odigie, has filed a N395 million lawsuit against popular TikTok streamer Peller following a viral video that captured a confrontation at a lounge in Lagos.

 

According to legal documents circulating online, Odigie was at the lounge to purchase food and was standing at the counter when the incident occurred. She claims that Peller, who was behind her, suddenly shouted, startling her and causing her to step away. The move, she alleged, led to an aggressive confrontation from the influencer, who reportedly demanded to know why she moved and told her to “shut up” during the exchange.

 

Odigie further alleged that Peller used insulting language, including Yoruba curses, and recorded the encounter on his phone without her consent. The video was then allegedly shared across multiple social media platforms, including TikTok, Snapchat, WhatsApp, and Instagram.

 

The plaintiff claims the viral clip resulted in cyberbullying, harassment, emotional distress, reputational damage, and threats to her personal safety.

 

Through her legal team at FA Garrick & Co., led by Bola Osineye, Odigie issued a pre-action letter dated March 10, 2026. The legal filing accuses Peller of defamation, invasion of privacy, and cyber harassment.

 

Odigie is seeking N200 million for alleged defamatory publication, N100 million for emotional trauma and reputational damage, N75 million for distress caused by cyberbullying and threats, and an additional N20 million to cover legal fees and related costs.

 

The case highlights growing concerns over social media privacy, consent, and the potential legal repercussions for influencers sharing content involving third parties without permission.
