Lagos State Ministry of Transportation don confirm say dem don arrest one truck driver wey cause serious panic for Ojota–Maryland axis on Tuesday after he try run from enforcement officers.
For statement wey the Ministry release on November 25, dem talk say Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) operatives stop the truck for Ojota after dem notice plenty safety wahala. According to dem, the truck get broken windscreen, bad brake, expired documents and the container wey e dey carry no even secure well.
As VIS officers stop am, the driver begin run, speed enter Maryland side and jam about three motor for the road as he dey try escape.
The Ministry talk say the man reckless driving fit don cause bigger accident as he dey fly for road, but VIS officials later manage stop am before the matter turn worse.
The truck don dey impound now and the driver go face court for him actions.
Director of Public Affairs, Bolanle Ogunlola, hail the VIS officers for their sharp response, talk say the incident show the danger wey non-compliant heavy-duty trucks dey cause for Lagos roads.
The Ministry still beg motorists make dem follow traffic and safety rules, say na only when everybody cooperate we go fit get safer roads for the state.
