Ahead of the much-anticipated second edition of the prestigious Lagos Ex-Internationals Cup, members of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) Committee, led by Chairman Hajji Gafar Liameed, paid a courtesy visit to the Founder of the Bet9ja Foundation, Hon. Kunle Soname, on Friday. The highlight of the visit was the formal presentation of the beautifully crafted giant Ex-Internationals Cup trophy at his office.

While presenting the trophy, Hajji Gafar Liameed described Hon. Soname as a priceless asset to Nigerian football, commending his consistent commitment to youth empowerment, social development, and the creation of opportunities that have helped steer many young people toward meaningful careers.

In his response, Hon. Kunle Soname expressed appreciation to the LSFA delegation and affirmed that the Lagos Ex-Internationals Cup aligns perfectly with the Bet9ja Foundation’s mission to promote community development and improve the welfare of former football internationals.

He formally accepted the proposal for the tournament and nominated a director from the Bet9ja Foundation to work closely with the Lagos FA. The collaboration will begin with a working visit to fine-tune plans, logistics, and agree on the official kickoff date for the competition.

The meeting further underscores the LSFA’s commitment to strengthening corporate partnerships as a strategic pathway to sustainable football development across Lagos State.
