Kemi Olunloyo Raises Questions Over Alleged Snake Links in Late Singer Ifunanya Nwangene’s Death

Controversial commentator and journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has stirred fresh debate over the death of late singer Ifunanya Nwangene after suggesting there may be a mysterious and unresolved connection between the artiste and snakes.

In a video shared online on February 7, 2026, Olunloyo revisited the circumstances surrounding Ifunanya’s death, describing them as strange and deserving of deeper scrutiny. She questioned reports that two cobras were allegedly found inside the singer’s apartment, arguing that the explanation offered to the public did not fully add up.

Olunloyo noted that while snake bites are not classified as criminal cases under Nigerian law and may not typically warrant police investigation, the unusual details surrounding the incident raise both investigative and spiritual concerns.

“How did two large cobras end up in the apartment of a singer?” she asked, dismissing widely circulated claims that the snakes emerged from sewer systems as implausible. According to her, the narrative left too many unanswered questions.

She further referenced reports alleging that another snake was discovered in the engine of the ambulance conveying Ifunanya’s body to Enugu, describing the coincidence as disturbing and difficult to ignore.

Drawing from cultural, religious, and mythological perspectives, Olunloyo stated that snakes have long been associated with spirituality and music in various belief systems. She speculated—without making definitive claims—that the singer might have had some form of connection to snakes, including the possibility of keeping them as pets.

However, Olunloyo was careful to emphasize that her remarks were speculative and illustrative rather than conclusive. She stressed that she was examining the issue from both a spiritual lens and an investigative journalism standpoint, adding that no concrete evidence currently supports any particular theory.

The commentator also shared personal experiences to underscore her views on the spiritual symbolism of snakes, while acknowledging the fear and negative perceptions surrounding them, often rooted in biblical and cultural narratives.

Despite raising questions, Olunloyo concluded by offering prayers for Ifunanya Nwangene, stating that the circumstances of her death remain strange and unresolved, and wishing the late singer’s soul eternal rest.

Her comments have since generated mixed reactions online, with some social media users calling for caution against speculation, while others echoed her call for deeper examination of the reported events.
