
The federal government of Nigeria has commended the victorious PARA POWERLIFTING athletes and officials who represented Nigeria at world para-p powerlifting lifting championship in Kazakhstan.
the permanent secretary ministry of youth and sports , Olusade Adesola appreciated the efforts put up by the athletes at the tournament for putting up a spectacular display despite travelling with 14 athletes to the event
The President Nigeria parapower lifting federation, Queen Oboh said the athletes were quite wonderful and could have won 14 gold medals if they had all been fit at the chanpiobship he however urged the ministry to take strict measures against some of the male athletes who hid their injuries while going for a major championship saying it is detrimental to growth of the game and the image of the country
Lucy ejike,folashade olufemi-ayo abd bose omolayo are the the three athletes that won gold for nigeria at the world parapowerlifting championship and they all want to win gold at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and call on the sports ministry and private bodies to assist them by ensuring that they are call to camp early.
76 countries and 708 athletes participated at the world para powerlifting championship held in Kazakhstan with Nigeria finishing second overall with total number of 3 gold, 3 silver and two bronze medal
