Organisers of the Kanu Nwankwo U19 Interstate Tournament have announced that the tournament will kick off on May 6 in Aba and Owerri simultaneously. 

16 teams will take part in the tournament, 8 in Abia and 8 in Imo State. The tournament runs from May 6-20, 2024. The semifinal and other matches which will be played in Abia will be at the Abia State Polytechnic pitch while the final will be played at the Enyimba Stadium. 

The winner of the tournament will go home with ₦300,000 while the runner up goes home with ₦150,000 and every other participating team will get consolation prizes.

The tournament is sponsored by Enyimba's Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme. Former internationals; Victor Ikpeba, Seyi Olofinjana, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Victor Ezeji, Julius Agaghowa, Austin Eguavoen and others are expected at the final.
