Kanu Condemns Attack On Ex-Enyimba Chairman Anyansi Agwu, Calls For Demands Full Weight Of The Law Against Perpetrators
Nwankwo Kanu, a former Nigeria international and FIFA/UNICEF Ambassador, has condemned in its strongest term the recent attack on the former Chairman of Enyimba FC and incumbent First Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Chief Felix Anyansi Agwu, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
Anyansi was on Tuesday 7 January 2025 attacked by yet to be identified armed hoodlums in his Abuja home, leaving him with injuries.
The attackers were equally reported to have made away with his belongings including his Car, phones, money amongst other items.
The Enyimba Chairman, Nwankwo Kanu in a strong-worded message on behalf of the Enyimba family described the incident as very 'unfortunate' and urged security agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act with a view to bringing them to face the full weight of the law.
While praying for Anyansi’s quick recovery Papilo called for a better secured society especially to enable the football industry and other sports activities thrrive in our country as it has the capacity to boost our Internally Generated Revenue, IGR and for nation building.
“I'm utterly disturbed by the ugly news of the home attack by armed robbers on my elder brother and critical football stake holder in and outside the country and continent", the message Kanu personally signed began.
“It is indeed sad that such unholy act can befall our referred football administrator at this time he is selflessly contributing to the growth of the nation's football.
“I urge the security agencies to quickly unravel the mystery as well as fish out the perpetrators of such wicked act and bring them book.
“My thoughts and prayers are with him as I pray for his quick recovery and for God to replace his lost items.
“We all at Enyimba wish our former Chairman speedy recovery", the message concluded.
