Kano State Don Ban “Kauyawa Day” Celebration, Suspend All Event Centres Because of Morality Wahala

Kano State Censorship Board don announce say dem don ban all “Kauyawa Day” events — wey people sabi as Villagers Day — and dem don suspend all event centres for the whole state till further notice.
Di Executive Secretary of the board, Abba El-Mustapha, talk this one on Saturday after one meeting with the board people. He talk say the action na part of wetin dem dey do to promote better behavior and keep order for the state.
El-Mustapha still talk say this decision follow the new 2025 law wey Kano State House of Assembly just amend and the Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf don sign am. The new law give the Censorship Board power to control and monitor DJs, event organizers, and event centres for inside the state.
According to the board, any event wey carry the name “Kauyawa Day” now dey go against the law. El-Mustapha come beg community leaders and security people like Hisbah, Vigilante Group, and other local security teams make dem join hand to make sure people obey the new rule.
“From today, anybody wey organize Kauyawa Day don break the law. We dey beg everybody make dem help us enforce this law so our society go better,” na so he talk.
