In the aftermath of Sunday’s shameful incident during the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash between Kano Pillars FC and Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), General Manager Ahmed Musa has issued a deeply emotional and unreserved public apology, condemning the violence and vowing sweeping internal reforms.

 

The match, played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, descended into chaos following altercations involving fans and personnel, marring what was meant to be a celebration of Nigerian football. “This club has always stood for community, passion, and respect,” Musa wrote. “Sadly, today, we fell far short of that standard.”

 

Musa offered apologies to Shooting Stars players, coaches, and supporters, as well as to match officials, league administrators, and fans across the country who were left “angry, shocked, and disappointed” by the events.

 

“Violence has no place in football. It is unacceptable, unjustifiable, and goes against everything this beautiful sport stands for,” he added.

 

Emphasizing that apologies alone are not enough, Musa promised accountability and action. He pledged the club’s cooperation with relevant authorities to identify those responsible and ensure they face appropriate consequences.

 

“We take full responsibility and will do everything necessary to restore trust, respect, and the true spirit of football in Kano and across Nigeria,” the statement concluded.

 

The apology marks a significant step from Kano Pillars’ leadership, and all eyes will now be on how the club follows through with disciplinary and preventive measures. Meanwhile, the NPFL is expected to conduct a full investigation into the incident, with possible sanctions looming.
