The Kano State Government has set aside N2.5 billion for its quarterly mass wedding program across the state’s 44 local government areas in 2025.

The State Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Musa Shanono, revealed this while presenting the breakdown of the 2025 budget, which was passed into law by the State House of Assembly on Friday.

Shanono explained that the mass wedding initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to allocate N91.32 billion to governance and service delivery. The program aims to promote social welfare, support sustainable growth, and improve citizens’ living standards by fostering responsibility, openness, and human rights.

Other notable allocations in the budget include N1 billion for Ramadan feeding and N955 million for a manpower statistics survey, a general household survey, and data collection on out-of-school children.
