Kanayo O. Kanayo Calls Men in Nollywood "Endangered Species"

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has sparked debate with a provocative statement, labeling men in the industry as "endangered species." His concern stems from wealthy men's tendency to lavish excessive spending on female actors. He argues that this creates an unfair perception that male actors are not working hard.

Speaking on 'The Honest Bunch' podcast, Kanayo lamented that rich men often patronize women in the industry, providing financial benefits that overshadow the accomplishments of their male counterparts. He cited examples where women receive large sums of money for productions, while men are expected to succeed solely through hard work without similar support.

Kanayo further emphasized the disparity by highlighting that men are more likely to seek financial help for medical expenses.  His comments have ignited a conversation about gender dynamics and the need for more balanced support within the Nollywood industry.
