Judith Chime Nominated For Black Excellence Award

Former goalkeeper of Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, Judith Chime has been nominated ahead of this year’s Black Excellence Awards in the United States of America (USA).

Judith, also known as “Kamala” earned a nomination as finalist in the outstanding sportsmanship category.

The Black Excellence Awards is an annual event organised by the African Awards USA.

This year’s edition is slated for Georgia International Convention Center, Concourse College Park on April 27, 2024.

She played for the Nigeria women’s national football team at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup and at the 2000 Summer Olympics.

After calling it time on her career, the former save hands for the Super Falcons have been active within football confines through her foundation (Judith Chime Foundation).

Chime’s foundation has successfully organised the “Ifeanyi Chiejine Memorial Cup” for the past two years in memory of her teammate.

The tournament which is organised for clubs in the lower cadre of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has discovered talents for the national teams in U-17 and U-20 categories.
