Awka Angels and Rangers Women will battle for the giant trophy as the Judith Chime Championship tagged 'Enugu 2025' comes to a fitting and glamorous end today, Saturday 20 December, 2025, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Awka Angels defeated Brave Hearts 2-0 in the semi final while Rangers Women stunned Solowonders 3-1 to reach the final of the 18 team Championship final.

On Friday, 19 Decembwr, all four semi finalists --Awka Angels, Rangers Women, Giant Empress and Solowonders -- were presented a set of jerseys each by the tournament convener, Judith Chime, an ex Super Falcons goalkeeper.

The week-long 'Christmas' football carnival, laced with fun, entertainment, excitement, camaraderie and enthralling rendition of dazzling football skills by the teenage girls which had kept Coal City football freaks frenzy all day, thus, comes to its amazing climax today at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, otherwise known as the 'Cathedral'.

Incredibly, all 18 teams who graced the championship fixtures this year stayed back for the closing ceremony. This is unheard in the history of tournaments before, not even in CAF, UEFA, FIFA tournaments, a clear testimony of the trail blazing disposition of the Judith Chime Foundation CEO.

Awka Angels are making their debut appearance in the tournament final just as Rangers Women are in the final for the second consecutive time. Last year, as Green Foot, the Coal City side reached the final but lost to eventual winners, Imo Strikers Queens led by Harmony Chidi.

It will be a 'win-win' affair with multiple awards on the card in today's epic final. Aside the Championship trophy, runners-up silver and bronze medals at stake, there are also awards in the individual category --Most Valuable Player, MVP, Highest Goal Scorer, Best Goalkeeper and Best Behaved Team --awards.

A Novelty Match is also on the card in today's closing ceremony. According organisers, Enugu Sports Club will face Coaches whose teams participated in the week-long festival of football.

Giant Empress walked over Solowonders on Friday in the third place match to emerge as the third best team of the championship.
