Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has stirred fresh controversy with remarks suggesting that medical doctors are not trained to heal illnesses, but rather to keep patients dependent on treatment.

Speaking during an interview on Echoo Room with reality TV star Teddy A, Iyke described the global medical sector as “a trillion-dollar industry” and “big pharma business.”

“Medical doctors are basically trained all through their career not to heal. It’s big pharma business. If they tell you what to take and they heal you, you’re not a customer anymore and they won’t make money. That’s a trillion-dollar industry,” he said.

The 45-year-old actor also voiced concerns over the spread of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and accused the pharmaceutical industry of profiting from ongoing illness rather than cures.

Iyke is no stranger to provocative statements. Just days earlier, he branded modern feminism a “crime” and “two-faced movement” that has drifted far from its original mission of fighting oppression, claiming it was deliberately marketed by a popular women’s magazine to target discontented women.

The actor’s comments have sparked debate online, drawing both criticism and support from followers.
