The Technical Adviser of Jigawa Golden Stars, Coach Abdullahi Adamu, has expressed profound gratitude to Jigawa State Governor, His Excellency Umar Namadi, for renovating the Dutse Township Stadium with modern facilities. The governor recently approved the stadium as the home ground for Jigawa Golden Stars ahead of the upcoming Nigeria National League season.
Coach Adamu, in an exclusive interview with WooSportsNews, commended the governor for his unwavering support for sports development in the state.
"I'd like to commend the effort of the state government for renovating and giving the Dutse Township Stadium a facelift. This is a sign that the governor has the interest of the youth at heart and we will do our best not to disappoint him when the season starts," he said.
The team has resumed training on the new turf, and Coach Adamu believes the relocation will have a positive impact on the players.
"We have started training on the new turf, and I think the relocation to the newly renovated stadium is having a positive impact on the players. I must also give kudos to all the high-ranking sports stakeholders for their relentless efforts in order to reposition Jigawa Golden Stars to their glory days," he added.
With the new stadium, Jigawa Golden Stars is poised to make a strong comeback to the Nigeria top-flight league. The team will commence their quest to return to the NPFL in November when the 2025/2026 season begins.
