
An investigative panel set up after a National Security Council Meeting in Abuja to investigate the killing of three (3) intelligence police officers and one (1) civilian has arrived Jalingo led by Michael Ogbizi, the Deputy Inspector General of Police incharge of Force Criminal Intelligence and investigation Department, also included on the team is Abba Kyari Deputy Commissioner of Police Commanding the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team.
The delegation arrived the Danbaba Suntai Airport on the evening of Thursday, the 8th of August.
Though the team declined comments to journalists, they are expected to proceed to Ibbi Local Government Area of Taraba State on their investigative mission, and will also visit other police officers that sustained injuries from the incident and are on admission in Wukari General Hospital, Wukari Local Government Area of the State.
The National Headquarters of the Nigerian Police Force had on Wednesday August 7 issued a statement saying Nigerian soldiers opened fire on the vehicle of police officers of it’s rapid intelligence unit on a covert operation at Wukari-Ibbi road.
Three(3) of the officers were killed ,while others are injured, and a kidnap kingpin arrested in the operation was said to have been freed by the soldiers, and is now at large.
