The Nigeria Super Eagles on the early hours of Sunday were humiliated by Mexico by four goals to nil.

The Super Eagles team which comprised of mainly home based players, were overwhelmed by the North American nation who took the lead as early as the second minute through Hector Herrera.

Two minutes later, El Tri was linked up by Funes Mori to doubled their lead. It was Herrera again who grabbed his brace, six minutes on resumption to make it. Jonathan dos Santos added the final goal in the 77th minute.

The Mexican used the match as a good preparation for their 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup campaign beginning on July 11.

The result extended Mexico’s dominance over Nigeria after six games. While, El Tri have now won three games and the former Africans champions remain winless after three outings ended in a draw.

Gernot Rohr who was in the stands in the match, was not be impressed by the team’s performance , as the Super Eagles were completely dominated in chance creation and ball possession all through the game.
