Inspiring Excellence: Highstone Global University Recognizes Nigeria’s Brightest Minds

It was a moment of pride and reflection on Friday as Highstone Global University, Texas, USA, hosted its grand award ceremony themed “Honouring the Architects of Excellence”—a celebration of Nigerians making remarkable strides in leadership, academia, and human development.

Organized by the university’s Nigerian office, the event brought together leaders and scholars from across the country, marking one of the most inspiring gatherings of intellectuals and achievers this year.

In his opening remarks, Professor Maurice Azubuike Odiete, President of NIPEM Int’l and Highstone Global University, hailed the event as a celebration of diligence and purpose.

> “My impression about the event is that it was a glorious one,” he said.
“We’re recognizing people who have worked tirelessly across various states—Lagos, Delta, Rivers, and beyond. This award is a call to do more, to lead with justice, empathy, and integrity.”

Professor Odiete announced that 21 exceptional individuals were honoured, among them 14 honorary doctorate recipients, five winners of the Strategic Leadership and Excellence Award, and two new fellows of the institution.

Vice Chancellor Professor Theophilus Aku Ugah added that the awards reflect the university’s values of mentorship and social responsibility.

> “These awards go to men and women who have used their positions to touch lives,” he noted.
“We believe that excellence should ripple outward—creating change that lasts generations.”

For many honorees, the day was emotional. Dr. Adenike Juliana, recipient of an honorary doctorate in Operational Efficiency and Strategic Management, fought back tears as she recalled her years of unrecognized dedication.

> “For two decades I’ve worked quietly,” she said.
“Today’s recognition reminds me that every act of service counts.”

Another awardee, Dr. Ihuoma Ann Dozie-Enukora, described excellence as “impact driven by empathy and purpose,” adding that the award motivates her to keep contributing to social transformation.

The ceremony also featured two thought-provoking papers—“Strategic Positioning for Impact and Relevance Beyond Limit” by Mr. Alex Ndudi Enebeli, and “The People Principle: Foundation for Collaboration and Influence” by Professor Ugah—both of which underscored the need for collaboration in building strong societies.

With “Honouring the Architects of Excellence,” Highstone Global University once again reaffirmed its global vision: to nurture leaders who inspire, innovate, and ignite change beyond borders.
