Ijebu Ode, Nigeria – Imperial FC emerged as the 2025 Ogun State FA Cup champions after a thrilling 8-7 penalty shootout victory over defending champions Beyond Limit Football Academy at the Dipo Dina Stadium on Saturday.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions, with Beyond Limit taking an early lead through Wahab Hassan in the 3rd minute. Imperial FC responded swiftly, leveling the score in the 12th minute.

The game seemed settled when Imperial FC went ahead in the 85th minute, but Beyond Limit stunned the crowd with a last-minute equalizer, sending the match to penalties.

In a tense shootout, Imperial FC held their nerve to secure an 8-7 victory, claiming the title and dethroning the 2024 champions.

Both Imperial FC and Beyond Limit FA will represent Ogun State at the 2025 President Federation Cup.

Earlier in the day, Remo Stars Ladies retained their women’s FA Cup title with a convincing 4-0 win over Castmog FA, repeating their 2024 triumph against the same opponents.
