IMMORTALIZE ONIGBINDE: Bamigboye tells FGN, NFF, NIS, NFCA.
A renowned grassroots Sports Administrator, Godwin Bamigboye has strongly advocated for the immortalization of a great Coach and former Super Eagles handler, late Coach Festus Onigbinde.
Bamigboye who was specific on his advocacy called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the National Institute for Sports (NIS) and the Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA) to champion giving honour to Coach Onigbinde who commanded huge respect from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA). Emphasizing on his admonitions, he advised the Ibrahim Gusau led NFF to consider naming one of its projects in his honour as a way of immortalizing the great Coach.
He also called on Comrade Phillip Shaibu, Director General/CEO, National Institute for Sports to consider instituting an award in the name of Coach Festus Onigbinde for the best graduating student in Football Coaching annually. He observed and commended Comrade Shaibu for thoughtfully honouring Coach Onigbinde during his recent visit before the demise of the Modakeke high Chief.
He also urged the President of the Nigeria Football Coaches Association, Dr Isa Ladan Bosso to also honour Coach Onigbinde in the capacity of former President in addition to organizing an annual refresher Coaching course for Nigerian Football Coaches in honour and memory of the great coach. Bossom was also commended for accompanying Comrade Shaibu on his visit to Coach Onigbinde.
Bamigboye added that it is not out of place for the Federal Government to give him a posthumous National Award for his unquantifiable service to his fatherland and to the international community.
