Chikelue Iloenyosi, a former Nigeria international and ex-U23 Olympic Eagles defender, has been crowned as the 'FA Chairman of the Year' during Friday Night's Sportsville Award ceremony in Lagos, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
'General' Iloenyosi is fondly and affectionately called by his fans and admirers, is also current Chairman of Anambra State Football Association.
The 'Capacity Chairman' as Iloenyosi is also called, mounted the podium yesterday to receive the award at the Sportsville Recognition Award Ceremony held at Eko Club, off Bode Thomas Street, Surulere Lagos.
The Award represents a significant innovation and dynamic leadership Iloenyosi has brought to football development in Anambra State especially at the grassroot level since mounting the throne as head of football in Anambra State nearly two years ago.
The recognition also highlights his numerous contributions to Grassroot Football development, having attracted several national competitions in the State which has ultimately turned the South East State into a somewhat 'football destination' in the country.
This is one of many awards he has received since he took over as the state FA Boss in 18 months.
The soft spoken Chief Priest in the temple of football in Anambra State would later appreciate the organizers of the award ceremony and pledged that the recognition will further spur him to 'do more', especially in the area of grassroot football development.
