Chikelue Iloenyosi, a former Nigeria international and Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, has hinted that he's working on a project that would further elevate grassroot football in Anambra State, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Known as 'Grassroot Football Development Tournament', Iloenyosi revealed that when it eventually comes on stream, it would involve U13, U15 and U17 Football teams in the state.

"The proposed Grassroot Football Development Tournament that will kick off in Anambra State soon", Iloenyosi, who is called 'General', he said.

"And it comprises of  Football Academies for the U13s , U15s, and U17s football teams", the former Super Eagles defender explained even as he has not given detail about the tournament.

Huge innovation has crept into Football in Anambra State in the past two years, following the emergence of Iloenyosi, an ex- U23 Olympic Eagles defender as Chairman of the FA.

Aside Anambra State now hosting National Competitions like the President Federation Cup competitions, NPFL Matches and NNL games as well as different State FA organised competitions like Babatem All Stars, BrainBox competition and Chairman's U17 competition.
