Chikelue Iloenyosi, Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, has received an implicit vote of confidence from the Board of the Anambra FA, a move that underlines the Board's appreciation of the giant strides the South East State has recorded since the former Nigeria International assumed the role of ANSFA boss in July, 2022, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Rising from its maiden sitting Wednesday, 27 March, at the FA Secretariat, Udoka Housing Estate, Awka, the Board expressed satisfaction with the progress so far made in football development in the state, especially at grassroot level under the watch of the former Super Eagles defender.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting and which was made available to Exclusivenews.com.ng, the FA Board commended Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo and his Deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, for their 'immense support' for football development in the state.

Neros Pharmaceuticals Limited also received huge plaudits from the FA Board for it sponsorship of the Neros/Anambra FA Cup which is in its 17th consecutive year this 2024.

"The FA Commends NEROS Pharmaceuticals Limited Chief Executive, Prof (Dr) Polycarp Emenike, (Odenigbo Nanka), for his continuous sponsorship of the longest running state FA Cup sponsorship in the country", the communique added.

It's also worthy of note that the Board equally approved the appointment of Ralph Nweke as the Acting Secretary of the FA. Nweke, a Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON, Anambra Secretary, was engaged by the board on assumption of office, in an acting capacity.

Nweke's appointment follows the expiration of the tenure of the former Secretary, Chijioke Onyedika, according to the communique.

The communique also mandated the Acting Secretary to write to the Chairman of the former caretaker FA Chairman, Emeka Okeke, demanding the submission of the FA's Bank account.

Exclusivenews.com.ng reports that four committees were set up by the board during its exhaustive meeting, Wednesday in Awka.

The committees include Organising Committee which is headed by the Vice Chairman of the FA, Victor Aniekwena as Chairman. Other members of the Organising Committee include veteran administrator and ex Obosi Utd chairman, Uzor Epundu, Coach Obi Moneke, Ifeanyi Ojukwu with Ralph Nweke as Secretary.

Referees Committee has Mrs Cordelia Akanna as Chairman with Cornelius Obiefuna as Vice Chairman, John Ubendu, Collins Ozigbo, Austin Mkparu, Ralph Awugosi as members just as Ralph Nweke will serve as the secretary.

Uzor Epundu is Chairman of the Disciplinary Committee which also has Sir Victor Nwangwu, Arthur Ebunam, Coach Paul Obiakor and Kenneth Onyeka as members.

Veteran broadcaster, Ralph Chidozie George is Chairman of the Media/Publicity Committee which also has Mike Onwuzuluike, Sab Osuji, Dr Iyke Nwokedi and Obinna Ndema as members.
