Bayelsa United hugely experienced goalkeeper, Ikenna Benjamin, has expressed shrewd optimism that the 'Restoration Boys' will bounce back to winning ways after a run of three defeats, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The former Shooting Stars Sports Club, Warri Wolves, Jigawa Golden Stars, Abia Comets and Remo Stars shot-stopper expressed confidence that the club have put their previous defeats behind and are now prepared, determined and motivated to put their 2025/2026 NPFL campaign back on track.

Bayelsa United are 12th in the Premier League table with 6 points from five matches goalkeeper Benjamin is looking forward to a moment of 'turning point' for the 2009 League Champions in Saturday's clash against the Benin Arsenals inside the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin.

"We've put behind the defeat by Nasarawa United. The players and coaches have resolved to bounce back strongly with a good result against Bendel Insurance in Benin this weekend", Benjamin said.

The 29-year-old dark-complexioned goaltender added that their recent run of poor results is a temporary setback that could launch the club back to top form.

"We only have to take the positives from there and bounce back. It's a temporary thing. Clubs do go through some rough moments and I think we've just passed through ours.

"We will overcome it starting from this weekend in Benin, who knows. That's the game of football for you. 

"We've the players who are committed, determined and motivated. With the coaches pushing us through and our loyal fans strongly behind us, surely we'll bring back the old good days of Bayelsa United and put smile back on their faces", he concluded.
