Debutant Ijele FC made their entry into the domestic Cup campaign count with a dominant performance against Luatai FC in Wednesday's 2025 President Federation Cup Round of 64 game at the Area 3 football pitch, Abuja, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

The quartet of Chidozie Ogbonna, Alex Izunna, Michael Suru and Emmanuel Ogbodo made their presence extraordinarily felt in the one-sided contest, sharing the eight goals between themselves, to set a tournament goal scoring record for a team making just it's first appearance at this stage of the annual Cup competition.

Chidozie scored a hattrick in the thriller and laced it up with two assists. Similarly, Alex Izunna fetched a brace for his NNL side in the game with an incredible four assists just as Michael Suru had his own spot on brace scorers in the 2025 President Federation Cup Round of 64 games. Emmanuel Ogbodo signed of the day's feast of goals with his sumptuous strike the took the Coal City based side's tally on the day to eight (8) goals.

Even though Luatai pulled on back to leave final scores at 8-1 for the 'Eastern Masquerades' it did not in any way scratch Ijele's progress to the Round of 32 in their first year of existence and participation in the nation's foremost all comers and glamorous competition.

Fesojaye Tajudeen, Head Coach of Ijele FC, was all smiles and thrilled as his boys translate his teachings on the training pitch into real action, turning in the goals,as they were easily carved out.

The 'sweet and easy' win thus throws up a stiffer challenge for the Enugu rookies who will now put their free scoring form to test against a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL side, Nasarawa United in one of the Round of 32 games.
