AVM Morgan yarn this one for one recent political gathering wey one senatorial aspirant of African Democratic Congress (ADC) organise. According to am, “Idoma people no dey part of the equation for APC. From appointment reach political inclusion and development, Benue South don dey sidelined. The retired Air Vice Marshal quick make am clear say e no represent Benue Rebirth Movement for the event and say all the comments wey e make na him personal opinion as stakeholder from Benue South Senatorial District.

 

E explain say for over five years now, Benue Rebirth Movement don dey do serious dialogue with leaders of Tiv nation, dey beg make dem give Idoma people chance to rule Benue State for the first time since the state start. According to am, despite all the bridge-building effort, the political class no show real interest to accept or work with the idea.

 

AVM Morgan lament say matter don even worse under the present political arrangement. E accuse two big APC power brokers for Benue, the sitting Governor and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), say dem don block Benue South completely from meaningful engagement inside the party.

 

E add say several attempts wey e make to get meeting with the two leaders no work, as dem dey always give am “cold shoulder”.

 

Because of this, AVM Morgan say e don carry the matter go national level, where e don meet with top APC leaders. E also confirm say e recently submit formal petition to the National Chairman of APC, accuse the Benue leadership of nepotism and deliberate exclusion of non-Tiv ethnic groups for the state.

 

As political advice, the former intelligence chief warn say if APC for Benue no open space make Idoma people negotiate power properly, dem suppose begin consider any political party wey ready and strong enough to negotiate and secure their political future.

 

E finally warn say if marginalisation continue, e fit cause political backlash wey go affect unity and stability for Benue State, stress say fairness, inclusion and dialogue na the only way wey fit bring lasting peace and good governance for the state.
