Heartland Queens Head coach Obi Ogala said he will continue to cherish the experiences of the just ended NWFL Super 6 held in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.

The Coach said despite  picking up only three points from five games at the play off which was drastically won by Edo Queens,  he still remains proud of his players with lessons learned from the tournament.

The Owerri-based outfit decided the league title despite finishing fifth on the Super Six log. They played out a 0-0 draw with host, Bayelsa Queens and a 1-1 draw with Rivers Angels which swung the title towards eventual champions, Edo Queens.

“Actually, we would have loved to pick the ticket to represent the country but being that it is my first time taking Heartland Queens to the Super Six, I would say I have studied Super Six and gained experience with the team,” Obi Ogbala told NigeriaFootball.ng

“Overall, I am satisfied and happy because my girls made me proud. After those losses, we came out and started picking points.”

The experienced gaffer opened up on how he was able to motivate his players to pick two points against the top three teams in the league, especially in their last two games.

“I have been there and done it. I have to motivate my players.” He continued. “I told them that they are young and new, but one thing is if your performance is up, you will attract better packages, national teams will see you, internationally you will have some contracts with scouts looking at you.”

“I told them that they have points to prove and if they raise their game, they will do better. After those talks, they came to the party.” He concluded.

Ogbala’s side will now focus on the President Federation Cup clash with FC Robo Queens on Wednesday.
